Art Specifications

Art brought to Creator Designs Inc. must be in an acceptable format or it will need to be recreated. Below are acceptable art formats that art may be received that will require no re-creating of artwork.-Distributors: Please do not open or change the original format of the art files you receive from your customers. Doing so may render files useless. Always forward the original file directly to Creator Designs Inc.

Acceptable Formats

Usable art must be created as “vectors” in Illustrator, Freehand or CorelDraw and saved as an .eps, .pdf, .ai  or .cdr file with all type/text converted to curves or outlines. File must be “vector only” with no placed images. All colors in the art must be in Pantone Process colors. (Examples of color modes that are not acceptable would include CMYK, RGB, Grayscale, etc.) All colors must be the same pantone number throughout the document. For example, if you are using pantone #202 CV for red in the art, then the rest of the red of that tone in the design, must be pantone #202 CV. And they must be from the same color palette.

Art may be sent as a Photoshop file. Acceptable Photoshop files are .pdf, .eps, and .psd with layers included. If the art cannot be transferred over to a vector program for separation, the file must be separated in Photoshop. This process is termed a non-Simulated Process Job. This process can be timely. Therefore the separation of such artwork is $20 per plate/color.

A Simulated Process Job is a term referring to the creation of a design where halftones of select colors are used to create a realistic or photographic looking design. This process is done using Photoshop. All artwork that may fall into this category will be viewed by the artist for quotes on the below information at time of order.

The resolution and size of the file will determine whether the screen-printing can be done or not. Artwork will separate best if it is “created” to the size it will print on the shirt and at no less than 300 dpi. Artwork will require specific colors to create the desired design. Artist will quote which colors will be needed to created the design at time of order. Please allow 3 days turnaround time depending on the complexity of the artwork. Artist will quote approximate time of turnaround at time of order and will be done in less than 3 days if possible. -Artwork that falls into this category needs to be provided in the original layered file. Any artwork provided as a flat image (.jpg, .tiff, etc), there will be an additional fee of $20.

Embroidery

For already digitized files, we require Tajima DST files. If digitizing services are required, please send in art in the acceptable file formats listed above for the other methods
